Star Wars: The Phantom Menace - Movie Trailer

Although released over 20 years after the initial movie, A New Hope, The Phantom Menace was Episode 1 of the Star Wars Saga. Below is the Movie Trailer curtesy of YouTube.

George Lucas had always said he had more or less the whole story in his mind before the original Star Wars was released, but it was way too long. Essentially, he edited it down so a single story could be told in A New Hope. The Empire Strikes back and Return of the Jedi followed. Of course, these were all a massive success.

When he thought movie technology had advanced to the level he needed it to, George Lucas decided the time was right to go back and produce Episodes 1,2 and 3 which he originally had to cast aside.

The orginal budget of Episode 4: A New Hope was 11 Million Dollars and released in 1977. Episode 1: The Phantom Menace had a budget of 115 Million Dollars and was released in 1999. How times changed!

Star Wars - The Phantom Menace grossed $924,317,558 in Movie Theatres worldwide.
